The craft
We don't quote per square foot, because every custom home is different. After our first conversation and a site visit, we build a detailed scope and budget around what you actually want, then deliver it with the same small team from first sketch to final install.
You work directly with James and the craftsmen and trusted Chattanooga specialists who deliver every James & Co. build. No hand-offs to someone you have never met, and no corners hidden behind the finish.
Many clients come to us with an architect already on board, and we build from those plans. Many come to us first, and we help bring an architect and an interior designer on board before anything is drawn. Either way the cabinetry, joinery and finish carpentry are built and installed by our own team, and specialist trades like plumbing, electrical, HVAC and stone come from a small circle of Chattanooga tradespeople we have worked with for years.
We take on only a select number of projects each year. That is a deliberate limit, not a sales line: it is what lets James stay hands-on from the first conversation through to the final touches, which is the whole reason people come to us instead of a volume builder.
